Whether you have a simple question about a personal tax return or worries about a complex, multi-jurisdictional filing, Sandy is always happy to pick up the phone and talk you through it. Her knowledge of tax policy—gained over a thirty-year career—allows her to recognize core issues and quickly drive to a compliant solution that minimizes your tax obligations.
Both at Katz, Nannis + Solomon and at her prior firms, Sandy has advised and provided tax and accounting support to clients, corporations, and private foundations across the greater Boston area. Her mind is always drawn to puzzles, and she prides herself on her ability to explain complicated tax solutions in accessible terms. As a Tax Principal, Sandy uses this skill on two fronts: reviewing client returns and overseeing our junior tax staff. The most important lesson she teaches those below her is to admit when they don’t know an answer—and to quickly connect with firm specialists who can provide a fast resolution.
Sandy is a member of both the American Institute and the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants. She holds an MS in Taxation from Bentley University and a BS in Business Administration (Accounting) from the University of Vermont. When she’s off the clock you’ll most often find her in Bethel, ME, with her husband Merrill and their two chocolate labs.
