Tax Manager – Partnerships and Corporations

Katz, Nannis + Solomon is seeking a Tax Manager focused on Corporation & Partnership tax to join its thriving and well-established practice. This position requires a high-energy, motivated, and seasoned tax professional with strong interpersonal and management skills. The right candidate will have deep experience with partnership law and items such as 704(b), 754, complex partner waterfalls, etc. Our growing practice provides tremendous career opportunities in a fast-paced team oriented environment. Responsibilities:

  • Review partnership/corporate returns.
  • Read & understand partnership agreements to determine and calculate allocations, shareholder basis, etc.
  • Perform research and draft memoranda on applicable tax issues.
  • Train and supervise staff, review and evaluate their work.
  • Make suggestions to help improve efficiencies, within department and on engagements.
  • Build new and existing client relationships and demonstrate interest and knowledge of client’s business.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years solid experience in Partnership tax.
  • Thorough understanding of complex technical issues.
  • Deep experience with partnership law and items such as 704(b), 754, complex partner waterfalls, calculations of partner/shareholder basis and at-risk.
  • Working knowledge of how the above partnership issues impact the individual’s personal tax return.
  • Superb communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to explain tax issues to owners of the Entities
  • BS and/or Masters in Taxation, Must be a CPA
  • Outstanding leadership, mentoring, and interpersonal skills nurturing client and staff relationships.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Able to problem-solve and think both creatively and logically.
  • Strong tax research skills.
  • Experience with profx tax and engagement a plus.

 

State & Local Tax (SALT) Manager

KN+S is seeking a State and Local Tax (SALT) Manager to join its thriving and well-established practice. Responsibilities:

  • Interact closely with KN+S team members and clients to provide high-quality, innovative and practical tax compliance, consulting and planning in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Deliver a full range of SALT services associated with income tax, franchise tax, sales and use tax, nexus, and UNITARY matters.
  • Lead and own SALT projects and provide consultation to clients, and creation of technical memorandums and correspondence.
  • Work closely with Partners, Principals, Directors, and Senior Managers and staff on client engagement, professional and business development activities.
  • Manage, supervise, train and mentor staff including performance and engagement reviews.

Qualifications:

  • Broad range of experience providing SALT services.
  • Outstanding leadership, mentoring, and interpersonal skills nurturing client and staff relationships.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to attract and develop client relationships.
  • CPA certification or JD required with 5 plus years of SALT experience.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting required.
  • Masters in Taxation or LLM in Taxation a plus.

 

Audit Managers & Seniors

We are looking for audit professionals ready to make a positive change in their careers. We have an immediate need for experienced auditors (Managers & Seniors) with 3+ years of experience. We have a diverse audit client base consisting mainly of high technology, financial services, life sciences, and manufacturing. An audit senior is responsible for performing fieldwork for audit and review engagements with minimal supervision. In addition, an audit senior will oversee staff and assist with training. The audit manager will be responsible to oversee and run engagements and manage client relationships. Audit managers will also have the opportunity to instruct and train staff members in firm-sponsored training programs and on-the-job.                                                                                                                                                                                       

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:                                                                                  

  • Understanding of firm policies and best practices             
  • Knowledge of GAAP                      
  • Understanding of audit risk assessment and financial statement assertions          
  • Ability to research and help resolve technical accounting issues                 
  • Performs audit planning, budgeting, and job evaluations for staff members          
  • Prepares and reviews financial statements, including footnotes and communication letters
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills with clients directly, managers/partners and teams
  • Demonstrate proficient skills with Word, Excel, Adobe                                                                                                                                

Other preferred qualifications:  

  • Experience with ProFX Engagement is a plus       
  • Exposure to a paperless environment a plus
  • CPA license or progress towards obtaining
  • At least 3 years of experience in a public accounting firm

Senior Tax Accountant

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review tax working papers and reports, ensuring that all significant accounting, compliance, disclosures and reporting matters have been identified
  • Supervise/train tax staff
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the Internal Revenue Code, regulations and other tax authority standards
  • Complete tax research assignments and propose solutions, experience with bookkeeping, tax planning and any other tax related projects

Position Requirements:

  • Strong technical skills in accounting and tax preparation of individual, partnership, and corporation returns. Fiduciary return preparation a plus
  • Tax planning (BNA software) and preparation for high-net-worth individuals and their related entities
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of current and/or recent tax experience
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, great follow-through, outstanding time management, the ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment

The position prefers:

  • CPA and MST/MSA
  • Proficient with Profx; Engagement
